Monica B.

This was my first Mud Run and it was a crazy experience.  Loved the Over/Unders and hated the Cargo Net. My arms were sore the next day from trying to climb those things! But it helped me to know where I need to build strength and am looking forward to powering through them in April.

I'm not the most fit person, but the fact that I completed all but 2 obstacles gives me the feeling of much power and great accomplishment.  If I can do it, anyone can do it! I used to weigh 255 pounds and am now down to 171 pounds and I completed this race and wasn't in last place!

Participating has pushed me to do even more, right now I am signed up for 8 events this year, including The Original Mud Run in DFW in April.  I am trying to convince my oldest sister to run with me. She was my inspiration to get back in shape and now I need to inspire her to get DIRTY with me!

I have two children, 3 and 4, who continue to be my motivation. Along with my husband they came out and cheered me on last year. I am former Air Force and am now a student at Tarrant Community College where I am considering majoring in Exercise Science. Yes more Mud Run influence!

And hopefully my story will inspire more people to take the MUDDY CHALLENGE. I say if you are scared, just go for it, you never know what you can accomplish until you do it. It changed my entire perspective on running and fitness. It was one of the most challenging and fulfilling experiences of my life.
